Mandated Reporting

All educators are mandated reporters, it is our duty to help protect students from abuse and neglect. According to state statute 33 V.S.A. § 4913(c), any mandated reporter who reasonably suspects abuse or neglect of a child shall report to DCF and the building principal within 24 hours of the time information regarding the suspected abuse or neglect was first received or observed.  This reporting is based on a suspicion and not an investigated incident of child abuse.  All Vermont educators are compelled to report suspected abuse.
